RUPA Presents: Scarlet Day of Service
The name’s Rj and I love RUPA. One of the best opportunities I have received from RUPA is emceeing events. I’m a pretty fun guy, or so my imaginary friends tell me. By any means I was allowed to stage manage and introduce comedians like Pete Davidson and Chris Gethard this semester. It was freaking awesome, because I have dedicated my life to the field of comedy. My big dream is to be a stand-up comedian who then infiltrates just about every other sector of the vast entertainment industry.
Being a part of RUPA this year has made it so very possible for me to hone in on some of my skills that truly need work. I have been able to speak in front of several hundred person crowds and have had the opportunity to work one on one with amazingly talented professionals. It’s obviously going to be a long road to stardom, but a word we like to use in RUPA is passion. As long as you have passion it’s hard for things to stand in your way. Working hard is the easiest way to achieve your goals, and RUPA has truly been the best way for me to immerse myself at college. College is where you experience your most growth and I just hope by the time I leave I’m ready to blossom into a beautiful daffodil flower.
