RUPA Presents: Scarlet Day of Service
It is not every day you get to meet a superhero. In this case, it is not every day you get to hang out with the star of the Netflix series Luke Cage, Mike Colter. He not only appeared in The Good Wife, Men in Black 3, Zero Dark Thirty and made his film debut in Clint Eastwood’s Oscar-winning Million Dollar Baby, but he’s a Rutgers Alum.
When I first met Mike, he came in talking about how Rutgers has changed so much since the last time he was here, but said that there were places he still recognized and loved. It seemed right that his home for four years would also be the first school to bring him in as a guest lecturer and I could not be happier! As we began wristbanding students for the lecture, I could feel the excitement in the air. People could not wait to meet Mike!
What made it more exciting was that we brought in one of his close professors, Maggie Flanigan to help lead the talk on stage. To see them reunite was really great!
