RUPA Presents: Scarlet Day of Service

The 1000 Cranes Project was new for RUPA this year. It was a long but pleasant journey from folding the first crane of good wish to achieving the 1000. Hundreds of Rutgers students help us fold the cranes and the final art piece were showcased in the Children’s Gallery at Dance Marathon. The idea behind the crane stemmed from the ancient Japanese tradition of Senbazuru which promises that a group who folds 1000 cranes will be granted one wish. It is absolutely touching to see the gratefulness and love injected in each crane.
